The library of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) was established in 1952. Now it endeavors to be a research-oriented, digitized, open and modern university library that keeps pace with the university's advance towards a world-class institution of higher learning. The library has two buildings both in Minggugong campus and Jiangjunlu campus with a total floor area of 45,000 square meters, and it opens every day from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.


In the past few years the library has expanded its collections very rapidly especially in terms of e-resources. By the end of 2014, the total physical collections was more than 2,540,000 items/volumes; e-journals and e-books in Chinese and foreign languages were more than 8,426,500; and databases were more than one hundred. The subjects covered include applied science, management, humanities and the social sciences,particularly aeronautics, civil aviation and astronautics-related technologies.


The library has set up some featured areas, such as the learning commons, audio-visual space, and readers' activities center. The library located on the new campus has established an International Students Service Center (ISSC) which helps to guide international students' studies and provides information services. Each reading room and featured in their area is equipped with computer terminals and covered with WIFI. Readers can carry out online inquiry, online booking and renewing, and can search various databases with free access from any computer terminals on campus. In order to improve readers' ability to retrieve, the library has set up various kinds of courses and trainings on information retrieval and utilization. It also provides services of inter-library loans (ILL), subject librarian, information inquiry both online and face to face, sci-tech novelty checking, etc.


The vision of NUAA Library is to build up a modern and smart university library for all the students and faculty.
